Eastern Running Review welcomes well-shaped pitches about running routes, pacing, preparation and the culture around a run. We are interested in useful ideas grounded in clear explanation, not claims of a universal method.
What to pitch
Propose a specific subject with a clear reader question and a distinct angle. A route piece might explain how landmarks help a runner plan a loop; a pacing piece could unpack how to recognise an intentionally easy effort without turning it into a performance test. We also consider accessible histories and observations of running spaces and customs.
What makes a strong proposal
Tell us what the reader will understand or be able to decide after reading, why the subject suits this publication and what material you would use. Keep the scope manageable, distinguish experience from general fact and flag any uncertainty. Do not send confidential information or make medical, safety-critical or unsupported performance claims.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief note about your approach. A proposal is not a promise of publication; please send an idea rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise.
A run is shaped before the first step
The route, the pace and the reason for heading out all matter. We focus on choices a reader can try, observe and adjust for themselves.
